🍆 Fiat Doblo Fuel Pump Problems

The problem with HDI diesel is that the pressure in the fuel pump is phenomenal ( in the order of 30,000 PSI ) and the pump relies on the diesel for lubrication, if you dilute the fuel with petrol the pump wears out very quickly - this wear puts metal particles in the fuel system, which messes up the injectors did that once.. :bang: before the engine cut itself off, with all the dash lighting up.. losing power steering, the engine will start to lose power slightly for a few time first. pour diesel into the tank. switch the ign into mar, let the fuel pump in the tank does it's work. the fuel pump should run for a few second, repeat a few time before Mikkel (DK) 2002 fiat doblo Cargo 1.9JTD. yes the speed pick up came from the BSI. Cant remember which wire off the top of my head & pretty sure i threw away the wiring diagram. If i remember ill have a look at the wiring tomorrow as it conneced to 1 of the multiplug wires at the front of the BSI so easy enough to see. The clutch has started slipping only slightly so far on full throttle at around 2500 - 3000 rpm in 2nd3rd4th gears. i am currently having exactly the same problem with a 1.3 multijet, i have fitted a fuel pressure regulator, pressure sensor, high pressure pump and a crank sensor and still the van will only start with easy start or on a jump. what i did notice is that i have no crank reading when im turning the engine over but it comes in when the van starts, ive done a current draw test on the starter motor This Doblo has a low mileage/city used and stood for the best part of a year so little surprise as to what the problem would be, if correct. Now I have gone down the road of buying an interface to operate Fiatecuscan and look forward to another learning curve The technician at the Fiat main dealers said they get loads in with the same problem I have had exactly this problem. The fault is the in directional valve at the bottom of the pump. The pump can be popped out of the bottom of the bottle. On the side of the pump there is a very small canister containing the directional valve. This can be prised off the two pipes connecting it to the pump, the valve can then be pulled into two Hi guys, Think EGR is wrecked. Fiat say Diesel Pump Vacumn valve/sensor/something but it feels like the EGR. No power up to 2000rpm when warm fine when cold. Flies like a jet plane (not literally) after 2000rpm. Seems to be worst after holding the revs just below 2000. Fill the fuel filter, the non jtd does not have a lift pump in the tank it relies on suction, the best way to get it is to fill the filter, start the engine and let the extra revs drag the fuel up to the filter.
